I have *famous* friends & I'm going to Camp Sloanie soon!

How many others listed yesterday or last night to Pat Sloan's Creative Talk Radio Show with Bonnie Hunter??? If you missed it click here to listen then be sure and click HERE to enter the giveaway contest!

I was all excited yesterday afternoon b/c David called just about the time I was gonna have to go wake up the twins to go pick up Nora... he was just getting around to a late lunch at 2:30... after I told him that the twins were still asleep then he offered to go pick her up so we could stay put at home!

Yippie I thought! I will get to her the show LIVE! and I did up until the part at the beginning of where Bonnie talked about denim quilts and using old records as templates... then it stopped on me :( .............probably b/c all her other fans clicked in and booted me off. haha

But last night after the kids were in bed, I brought my laptop in here to the dining room with me and got it going and I felt like both Pat and Bonnie were in here with me talking as I worked! It was fabulous! ;) I even posted on my Facebook about listening to them both as my status - to which my husband replied the first comment saying "nerd quilter!"

Little did he know that not only my Facebook friends would read and see it but ALSO that THE Bonnie Hunter and THE Pat Sloan would too!!! b/c they are my Facebook friends too! :P It was fun to read their responces! Even the *famous* JudyL had a comment too! ;)

So this morning as I was hopping around blogville... I wanted to go back to Pat's post and be sure and leave a comment for her give-away... I read about this:

Clicking on the logo should take you to her post about it... if not click here.

So I guess I need to get started thinking what can I do to use up a lot of my strips that I already have cut up and that are in my bins that I made using Bonnie's Scrap User System... and make plans to get started next Thursday - although I am also curious to see what Pat has planned to share with us too! ;)

Won't you plan on joining too?

Show-N-Tell from last weekend's Quiltathon

Ta-Da!!! Here are all of my blocks sewn together into (20) large 4-patches so far... I think I will wait before sewing them into rows until after our swap is complete, so that the bottom row won't have similar fabrics next to each other. ;)

I'm really happy that I got them together and it will make for a fast complete later on this year when I pull them back out to join them up after the swap is over. Now I just need to keep an eye out for a pretty blue fabric to use in the border... should have taken a look while at Joann's yesterday - as everything on the wall was 40% off... *sigh* Oh well, when the time comes I'll just use a coupon on a single cut anyway ;)

In other news...

Every night at bedtime, I've been trying to capture a photo of the twins kissing each other. You know, to frame and cherish forever more... and although they DO give kisses to each other - however, not in front of my camera! :/ They are so fast and turn their heads where I can't see both of them... well tonight there was no kissing going on at all. none.

This was about as close as they would get...

and I'm sure they planned that! Just look at those two!

Never fear Olivia & Paul-Ta... mommy will have her camera in her pocket every night and keep on trying. I'll probably get my Kodak moment when one of you has on the others pink and yellow PJs!!! and when you are 18 and sicking of seeing that photo in the frame, I'll just laugh and say - well it's your own fault... I tried to get one when you were wearing blue too!

My Quiltathon Progress

If you are stopping by thanks to JudyL's Mr. Linky - after reading my post, you may also want to refresh my page and read my previous post to see that I actually got started on JudyL's Quiltathon a little early starting on Thursday :) I put together a quilt top for "Quilts for Kids" and it turned out really cute! Take a look and see.

So today is Saturday - what have I been up to? Well I gathered up all of the baggies of blocks that Crazy'boutquilts and I have been exchanging with one another. In recent emails, neither of us could remember exactly how many we had made for each other or exchanged, therefore no idea on how many more we need to make... :P

The kids recently found this Easter basket in the hall closet and before I knew it they had broken off the handle :( but I'm putting it to use temporarily to hold my blocks. It's the perfect size for them don't ya think? ;) The block is called "MyBlue Heaven" and we found it on QuiltersCache. We modified our blocks to finish at 8" instead of 12" like QC has written the pattern for.

Well I counted and recounted and I have a total of 89 blocks here with me. I emailed crazy - she's the one with the EQ program and she replied back saying that we each need 120 blocks to complete our design that we have planned.

So 120-89= 31 more needed ... which means I'll make another 15 to swap with her and another 16 for me :0) in the next few months. But since my Crayola quilt is at the longarmer, and my "Quilt for Kids" is on hold until I buy thread... and I already have these blocks out - how about if I start joining them into HUGE 4-patches? :)

I'll need a total of 30 of these HUGE 4-patches for the top before borders. Here's the first 7!

Oh and one more thing I got accomplished today - I cleaned out under my stitch plate. I admit it wasn't because I was trying to be organized or tidy - but simply b/c while sewing over the thick seams I BROKE A NEEDLE :( and so while changing it out thought I should take a few moments to loosen a few screws and clean it out.

Eeeuuu! YUCK! I was majorly past due don't you think? Oh and look at my little brown case - I think meant for business cards? I received it from AuntieReba last April at the Circle of Friends HGTV Retreat and I keep my assortment of machine needles in there ;) and I think of her every time I see it :)

Shown above are over a dozen more HUGE 4-patches ready to be put together... but not before pinning them! Pinning makes those points match up and I always double pin at each seam intersection! :) It may be a lot of work but it's worth it.

Did I say a lot of work? I mean a LOT of pins! 10 per block.

That's over 100+ pins y'all! :P Aren't they purdy?

I can't wait until after Mass tomorrow... we'll drive thru and bring it home for lunch and then afterward - the twins will go upstairs for naptime and I'll be skipping off to the dining room to sew these babies up! :)

Happy Quiltathon weekend everyone!
