Friday Fun - Anyone have one of these?

There has been several posts on the quiltvillechat yahoo group about the best iron for quilting... everyone giving their $0.02 worth on what they've had that they loved or not loved. For the most part I've just been hitting "delete" "delete" "delete" when I see them. Skimming the titles for the good stuff.

However over on the HGTV board Quiltaholic posted this link to an ironing board cover... a cover like I've never seen or heard of before. Here take a look yourself and tell me what you think. ;)

You All Have to see this Ironing Board Cover!

What will they come up with next! "laughing"

I was so tempted to share this link on the quiltvillechat group but I know how hard it is to get people to stay on topic and not reply to the list... so I thought I'd just share with you all here, so that on the quiltville group we can just stick with chatting about http://www.quiltville.com/ ;)

EDITED TO ADD: I added a link to Quiltaholic's name above to take you directly to the HGTV thread about this cover ;) *hehehe* everyone there is so funny! ;)

Sad news..

I received this in an email and just had to share here with all of you... this time of year I just can't help but recall many memories of him.....

Sad news

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainmentcommunity. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infectionand trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebritiesturned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, HungryJack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, andCaptain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as aman who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly inshow business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was notconsidered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-bakedschemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crustyold man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough,Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is alsosurvived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the occasion and take 4ime to pass it on and share that smile with someoneelse who may be having a crumby day and kneads a lift.

and if you thought that was cute check out this website http://www.pillsbury.com/aall/default.aspx

you can even watch his blooper TV comercials.. and do the Doughboy Dance while your there. Cute. Cute. :c)

Funny Faces on Friday

No, no, no, this will not be a series of posts each Friday like I try and do each week for "Wordless Wednesday" over on my family blog... but I just thought this title was catchy and went good with what I am about to show you. :P

OK, remember me talking about my greying hair...earlier this week and how my mom had all white hair... What, you don't believe me???

Well, I am about to PROVE it to you that yes, I am 34 and have lots of grey and even WHITE hairs!!!what's that you say??? "Oh that's not that bad Bonnie - I only see four or five... OK, maybe there's a dozen......"

Well take a closer look SISTER! On my right side there are lots... LOTS & LOTS I tell you!!!
on my left side there's a hole "patch" of 'em all hanging out together... sorta the beginning of an Elvira streak don't you think? OK, you still don't think it's as bad as I am making it out to be... well prepare yourself - you are gonna get a close up!
I tilt my head forward just a tad little bit so the light hits it and like that cooking show guy says, "BAM!" there they all are!!! and the whites are not as noticeable when all my hair is pulled up in a pony tail!!! Just imagine it down and then looking into my part!

I know, I know, I can't believe I just showed the whole world on my blog my grey/white hairs up close! But what do I have to hide? After all everyone who knows me, knows I have grey hairs... and why not share it with all of you too? (so those of you next year in NH will recognize me)

or is that look on my face of disbelief, b/c, of "I can't believe" what I'm gettin ready to show you next!???!?!?!

something I have always had fun doing - Making funny faces in the mirror!!!! Ever since I can remember - (as young as 3 years old I have memories of doing this)

OK, that was fun!... and I'll admit it, this entire post was staged!!!
Tonight after getting the twins to sleep and changing into my jammies, I saw the camera there on the bathroom vanity and thought to myself... maybe I should take photos of my hair and post on my blog??
Some people post of list of odd things about themselves, me I post photos! LOL (however I am trying to think up some "unique" things about me to post one of these days...) So stay tuned!
Happy Weekend everyone! :) Love from Texas! ~bonnie
note to self: WOW look at you Bonnie! Slowly but surly becoming a bloggin fool! :P Before you know it you will be like your bloggin mentors and posting EVERYDAY! It's too bad your archives at the side don't have a number in (#) parentheses beside each month to show how often you have posted..... I bet you have posted more this month than you have all year! anyway, whoo hoo.. keep it up girl!
OK, I am done talking to myself now. ;) nite!

Wearing Make up to the Farm!

OK not quilt related at all but I have to share......here is a photo of me and the babies taken during Fun Friday Farm Day with Nora's preschool...and I wanted to share with all of you.

Lookie at me, wow, I do still remember how to apply makeup after all! :) LOL I know several of my girlfriends have been wondering lately if they'd ever see me in mascara again! Why I choose to wear makeup to the farm playdate is beyond me...? I don't know... guess I was running early and had the time! LOL

....and I'm pretty sure they have given up on seeing my hair fixed in anything other than a pony tail... at least while Paul Thomas is still at the holding stage. Maybe one of these days I will surprise them and do pigtails! LOL :P

... naaa.... that would defeat the whole purpose...he'd have double the chances of grabbing hold and taking a big ole yank! I'm loosing enough hair as it is without his help.

More and more brown is falling out and brad new shiny wirey GREY ones are goring in! :P I wonder how fast/slow this process will take? My mom was completely WHITE HEADED not grey... WHITE (like cool whip white) all of my life. Which for a kid lost in K-mart it made her pretty easy to spot above the clothes racks. :c)
Although more than a million times we were asked if I was her granddaughter... and her reply "She's a granddaughter, but I'm not the grandma!" which my mom thought was fun b/c it stumped people and left them confused...

She had me at age 38. I will soon be 34 in July and I can't imagine being all white in just a matter of 4 years! YIKES! :P

And if my mother were still living she would die if she knew that since moving to the armpit of America, uham, I mean South East Texas, make up is optional for me... very OPTIONAL! She "put on her face" every day of her life within an hour or so after getting out of bed.

I think I was the only 7th grader in my school who's mom wanted them to wear make up and there's no telling how many times she told me to "go put on more blush b/c I looked too washed out" while my father had just 2 seconds before told me to go wipe some of my make up off before leaving the house... so what did I do? Walk to the hallway, out of site, count to about 50 or 60 then reappear and everyone was happy.... except me.

Love from Texas,

~bonnie

NTS (note to self)..........gotta figure out those fancy smancy signature lines one of these days...

Fun Friday at the Fire station!

FUN FRIDAY - Today was a once a month activity - we usually call it FFF = First Friday Fun but b/c of Good Friday and Easter we had to postpone this one... it was with our MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group.

We took a tour of the local Fire Station this morning and Nora LOVED it!! All the kids got to ride in the truck - or they "thought" they did at least!! We loaded them all up in the extended cab while it was parked in the garage and the fireman got in started it up and then pulled it out side - b/c of liability reasons he could not take them on a "real" ride but they didn't care or know the difference! :P That is the great thing about toddlers! ;)

They each got to take turns putting on the gear - Nora especially loved the mask! She tried on the fire helmet too but I think she liked the mask better - they were all so funny b/c they wouldn't turn their heads to the camera with the helmet on - guess it was WAAAY too HEAVY!!! LOL
At the top is a group photo I took - these are most of the kids in our MOPPETS program........14 of the 20 tots! We did the best we could to "round-them-up" for the photo - but some of the babies were being held by mamas.... Nora is the first one on the left sitting down in the group photo.

EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to mention that afterwards, David called me on the cell phone asking about our trip to the Fire Station -I told him all about it and how excited Nora was to wear the mask and helmet... well, when we arrived to pick up Daddy for lunch - he came out to the van with his huge equipment duffel bag hanging over his shoulder!!!

Before he even got into the van he opened up the whole bag and showed Nora his Fire Helmet and mask and boots! :) David wanted her to know that he was certified to be a fireman too so that she would know that her daddy is a "hero" too! :) That is just one example of what a GREAT Daddy David is! :) He didn't have to do that but he did - and all for Nora. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lately Nora and I stay pretty busy and I wonder if we will slow down at all after the twins arrive???? She does Story Time every Wednesday at the library in Bridge City and then her Thursday Play Group is VERY active - always something fun to do each week. :c)
Last week they did a Nature Trail Hunt and all the kids had a ton of fun...... but Nora had the most fun getting dirty (as always) and even stuck her head in the mud to prove it! Here are a few photos that another mom was able to go run and take for me - b/c I was "resting" on the picnic table about 100 feet away...
I have always heard the expression, when your kid does something and you don't know if you should get mad or laugh - be sure and take a picture! I am glad Beverly was able to get these for me. :c)
Fun Time Friday
Well today, for "Fun Friday", Nora and I went to the park after the post office this morning. I wanted to do something fun for her since she didn't get to go to playgroup yesterday. My eyes are still bothering me from having the PINK eye (very sore still) - so I didn't risk going to playgroup.
Earlier this week I talked with Dad on the phone (he's in Kentucky) and he told me about the cool weather they have been having - highs in the low 50's and lows in the 30's!!! It was hard to believe that it is so cold there and all week our highs here have been in the mid 80's. Well, today the high was only 72 and this morning when we were at the park it was only up to 66 and a little windy. It felt great! Finally fall weather! :c)
We were the only ones at the park but Nora had fun all the same. We went to a smaller park b/c the larger one in town called "Lion's Den" is not as easy to get into right now. The local Lion's Club has their carnival all set up in town (by the BIG park) and tonight is opening night. Tomorrow from 4-6pm is kiddy hours and I think David and I are planning on taking Nora. She didn't get to go to it last year - it rained the whole weekend.
If we go or not will depend on how David wants to spend his weekend. I think he will want to but I will let him decide. He leaves Monday for a business trip to Indianapolis, IN and will be gone thru Thursday. Then the day he gets home is leaving again for a Men's ACTS retreat with church. He won't be home until Sunday the 22nd.
As always before he leaves, I will tell him to take a good look at my hair......because I might very well have pulled it all out before he gets home! :c) LOL That is our little joke b/c a week without a "Daddy Break" for Nora can be pretty stressful on Mommy!
Hope everyone has a Happy Weekend! :c) ~Bonnie
Fun Friday
Firday's are my fun time in the sewing room. Usually I work on making string blocks for a one day quilt and ever since this past spring when everyone on the HGTV board decided to do a swap (which I am hosting) I have been busy nearly every Friday sewing on the blocks for that swap. The due date was 10/01 and as of yesterday ALL packages are RECEIVED! :c) Now I can begin the swapping process - more pictures to be posted soon of the groups.
Here's just some of my progress over the past few weeks. It is so fun to finally square them up, like giving a kid their first haricut - they look so all grown up! :c)
In the background you will see my noodles for September the theme was Pink so that when everyone receives them back in October it will go along with Breast Cancer Awarness month. I always wait to see how many total sets of noodles there will be and then cut enough of mine so that I get one of each from the swap. This time, we had a total of 68 sets swapped with only 3 or 4 repeats. The noodles will be ready to mail on Monday to everyone who participated.
ok, and now to begin a new "Fun Friday" tradition of my own here on my blog. I saw this weblink a while back and did a survey to find out just how much I am worth....and the result is.....
I am worth $1,990,410 on HumanForSale.com
..not that I would ever sell any part of my body... but fun to take the survey. How much are you worth do you think?
Happy Weekend Everyone!
