1st Thrusday = Craft Night @ my Home

For the past 6 months or so we have been having "Craft Night" at my home. It started out 1st and 3rd Thursdays and just recently became just 1st Thursday of each month. We meet at my home b/c I am the only one that has a formal dining room that provides room for 6-8 people to all sit together and do our thing. Most usually I do not have out a project to work on although there is plenty I could do - but I just like to be the helper. All summer long I was the seam presser for my friend Heidi as she worked on piecing her blocks for her 1st bed size quilt.

Last night was the first night that the sewing machine was not on the table. We did something totally different – we all rubberstamped! :c) Usually it's up to each person to bring their own thing but last night we all worked together on the same project. Five of us help head up a MOPS group at my church. MOPS stands for Mother's of Preschoolers. Well, last night we worked on a craft that all the moms will be doing at our next monthly meeting but we made them for the workers who watch after our kiddos while we meet. Here are photos of two of them we made last night for the workers:

– the photos are not good… couldn’t figure out if it was better to use a flash or not??? The popcorn celing reflection is showing in the glass - really behind the letters it is just solid black paper. The frames were from Wal-Mart for $3 not bad for a nice appreciation gift to the workers. :c) and I know the mothers in the MOPS meeting will love making their own last names later this month. :c)

  1. I want to do a sewing night at my house because I just don't get out enough to meet other quilters or crafters. What a great idea to do something other then quilting. Your gifts will be loved.
