9/20/10 Nora has Mail!

Thank you Mrs. Eleanor!!! you know what the best part was... after she read the message then looked over on the right side and saw that you had addressed it TO: "MISS Nora" :) She has just recently started using the "Miss" title on all of her school & homework papers :P so that really pleased her!

Thanks so much for taking the time to send her a post card from Utah! :) Nora really loves getting mail for her in the mailbox ;)

Miss Nora

There once was a time that Nora received a post card or 2 or 3 every week! Back when I started my online Fat Quarter Bingo in '05, many of the players also sent along post cards to Nora. She got them from many states and even several other countries! Over 200+ that first year of collecting.

I taped them to her bedroom door and closet doors front and back and we spent many minutes looking at all the photos each day and sorta playing I-Spy with the things we saw.

Now several years later she doesn't receive them that often... maybe 3 or 4 a year... but just like before she's always excited and happy to GET MAIL that is JUST for her! :) Now that she can read printed handwriting she has even more to enjoy. And when she noticed this one addressed to "MISS" Nora she laughed and said, "That's funny! She must think I'm a teacher!" :D (as the only person she knows with a "Miss" in her name is her 1st grade teacher.

Thank you Miss Eleanor! ;) You helped make my Nora's day with this little surprise I had for her at the table when she got home from school and was getting ready to do her homework.

A Postcard for Nora! Arrived last weekend

I think David sometimes misses those long ago days when he would be the first one home from work each day and was the mail checker... so on the weekends he gets excited to be the one to get to check it. ;) Even on the occasions we go out for breakfast at IHOP he'll even drive up to the mailbox when we get home ... knowing that the mail lady hasn't ran yet... but just in case :P

(These were taken last Saturday - See post above on why I didn't post them last weekend)

Nora also got a little something too! One of my swappers Eleanor S not only mailed in her swap blocks but remembered that Nora collects postcards! ;)

What a beautiful area! and such BLUE waters! ;)

Nora's Newest Postcard

Today Nora received a special post card to add to her collection. VERY special. Not just any post card but a quilted post card :) a one of a kind!! Isn't it pretty?

And it's from a quilting friend in Russia! Isn't that cool??

This is her screaming out "THANK YOU" - when I said hold up the card and envelop by your face so everyone will see them too...guess she thinks my blog readers can actually hear her. LOL

She loved counting the stamps 19 that were marked POCCHR 1.00 plus one more another stamp for 0.30 WOWZERS!!! Marnia thought my Nora sure was pretty special!!! Thanks! :)

The note on the back read, "Dear Bonnie! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family! I wish you all the deepest ocean of happiness, progress, and prosperous business! Marina -roolen, Russia"

and as I had Nora hold it up to take a photo of the side with the note, I couldn't resist sharing this photo I caught of Nora yawning.. ;) My "all grown up" 4 year old "thinks" she's too big for daily naps... *sigh* wasn't it just a week ago I started this blog and named it "Nap Time News" b/c she napped twice everyday? Where does the time go?
