It won't be long.... 'till the Tooth Fairy's next visit...

Nora's loose tooth on top has been as much fun for her as it has been for us. I can't help but almost laugh at her when she's all serious and telling me some story and talking so fast and her tooth blowing side to side all the while. LOL :P It won't be long before it falls

Saturday's Honey Do Project ;)

Remember how I told ya to stay tuned... well it looks like I'm gonna have to keep ya hanging once more b/c while David put together my "Olivia" sewing table this weekend I took photos but the camera battery expired before we were finished! :/

Here are some to share with you while it charges..... Here's proof that I really won the cabinet - the boxes were addressed to "Olivia Facebook Winner" ;)
David reads over the "Olivia" Tech. Pubs. (that is what the engineers called the "Technical Publications aka "direction book" when I worked at EZ-Go Textron years ago) and Olivia ate popcorn and shared some with him...
For most of the time Olivia was the only one in the sewing groom with David... near the end Nora and Paul Thomas came upstairs and quickly found us at work and of course chimed in, "I wanna help! I wanna help!"
It didn't take but seconds for Paul Thomas to gather up his iron and football fabric and pick up his "home work" he calls it and begin testing out the new table while David put together the drawers.
Paul Thomas worked that screw driver as if he'd been using tools all of his life :) and of course Olivia gave the ironing a try too..... the photo of her ironing was the LAST photo taken before the battery expired :( *sigh*
But at least I got a few cute ones to share with you from Saturday when we worked on putting it together.
Yesterday after church we ate out then did some shopping at Target and I picked up a few of these stacking baskets. I'm hoping that they will fit in the open areas of the cabinet. There were only 2 available in the green so I bought them and hope to get 2 more next time I return.
So once again, ....stay tuned! :)

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Guess who's Birthday we celebrated yesterday at preschool.. Yep, you guessed it Dr. Seuss! Aren't these the cutest "Thing 1 and Thing 2" you have ever seen? :)

I took about 4 dozen photos in less than 2 minutes and then gave up. Apparently they've learned that sticking their tongues out is SILLY... or so THEY think it is anyway. :P

Tounge in or tounge out, no matter what you do...

Mommy still loves her "Thing 1 and Thing 2"

...and speaking of a thing 1 and thing 2... here's 2 things that arrived Monday that have been just hanging out at the top of the stairs... You might not have heard, but recently on facebook, I won a sewing table from Arrow Sewing Cabinets!

As in FOR FREE!!! Yippee!

However things have been on the go, go, GO so much with the kids - Girl Scouts, Jazz, Softball Practice, the twins' T-ball practice, and CCD on Wednesday nights... Softball games here in town, plus OUT OF TOWN Softball tournaments each weekend (Both Sat & Sun) and then throw in homework into the mix... and well you get the picture.... NO Free time!

Next week is Spring Break around here, which means all the above listed activities for the kids are not meeting next week.... *sigh* so I'm hopeful that in the next week we can work on getting my new "Olivia" cabinet put together and moved into the sewing room!

(Light off) (Light on)

I just love the back wall painted green - I did that MYSELF one night last weekend and I plan to sit the new sewing cabinet right about where the bed use to sit. For now, Paul Thomas has his ironing board set up there...

Stay Tuned!

Thank you Dana & Amy Ellis!

Do you know Dana from The Old Red Barn Co. I don't really know her either - but she's whatcha call a blogger friend and I also have her as a friend on facebook now. A few years back I found her blog and instantly fell in love.

Her music was so cool that some day's I'd pull up her blog just to hear her song list play as I read email. :P Her photos are awesome - how she ever trained her two beautiful daughters to stare DIRECTLY into the camera is beyond me. I'm lucky if I can even get the front side of my wild ones.

Oh and she also gives great tutorials, and often has giveaways... we're talkin QUILT giveaway for "just because." And my favorite posts are those that include youTube videos of her girls Cloggin! :) I grew up clogging and soooo wish we lived in an area that had cloggers. I'd jump right back into it if I could!

Well - the reason for this post is to THANK DANA for randomly drawing my name in her recent giveaway! Amy Ellis sponsored Modern Basics Blog Tour to celebrate her book release. There's a list of about a dozen blogs giving away a copy... still going on if you hurry!

Wanna chance to win a copy - hurry over to these two blogs and leave a comment for their drawings! Fat Quarterly on March 4th and visit Amylouwho on March 5th

Thanks Dana for drawing - and THANK YOU Amy for Signing my copy! ♥

Quilter's Daily Deal and Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Have you ever heard of "The Quilter's Daily Deal?" It was a few weeks ago that I was watching some tutorials over at Missouri Star Quilt Company and fond out about it myself.

I did find a few new tools that I just had to have but had not ordered them yet. As I often do I did put them all in my "Shopping Cart" then at the checkout - I hit the Print Screen button and then pasted it into an email to myself with the subject line called WISH LIST.... does anyone else send themselves emails I wonder? lol

Anyway, fast forward to this week... Monday I got a phone call from my friend Quiltaholic saying she would be refunding my Circle of Friends Retreat $75 deposit via paypal and needed my email that I use on that....

Then today on facebook news feed - b/c I'm a fan of them on facebook - you can find them HERE. I saw this and knew that today was the day to ORDER!
Quilting Deals
Today’s daily deal – one Civil War Reunion charm pack by Barbara Brackman for only $3.55 (62% off). Includes 42 5”x5” squares of rich fabric.
Whooo hooo! Civil War Charms! 42 of them!!! I can't wait! What else did I order you ask...? Well you'll have to wait and see. ;)

Oh - and one more thing before I go.... since they change their deal of the day each night at midnight - and it will be gone before you might see it - I have to share with you their poem, Dr. Seuss style in celebration of his birthday today! :) Cute isn't it...

The Grinch Who Hated Quilting
Then he growled, with his Grinch fingers nervously drumming,
"I must find some way to keep the Daily Deal from coming!

For, tomorrow, I know all the quilting ladies will squeal,
Will wake bright and early. They'll rush for the deal!

And then! Oh, the noise! Oh, the noise! Noise! Noise! Noise!
There's one thing I hate! All the NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE!

And they'll shriek squeaks and squeals, racing 'round with their deals.
They'll make endless pinwheels, of blues, greens and teals.
They'll cut fabric from Lila Tueller, with their half-hexi rulers.
And they use layer cakes, to make Dresden Plates.
They'll get the irresistible itch to stitch in the ditch.
Their sewing machines will hum, thimbles adorning their thumbs,
And they'll be noisy women chatting,
About their precious backing and batting!
And they won’t stop to relax because they still have charm packs,
And they all like to use their fabric to the max.

Then the quilting Whos, young and old, will sit with fabric stacked to the hilt.
And they'll quilt! And they'll quilt! And they'll QUILT! QUILT! QUILT! QUILT!

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss Day (and his birthday), and so I thought I’d honor him and his timeless books with a quilting rendition of the Grinch. Although I didn’t parody the entire story, I think you can all guess how it ends though; the ladies make a lovely quilt for the Grinch and his heart grows three sizes in one day. Now he’s so into quilting that him and his dog Max run a guild in his cave 10,000 feet up Mount Crumpit (it still holds the record for the quilt guild at the highest altitude!)

We hope you love Dr. Seuss as much as we do, and as much as you’ll love today’s daily deal – one Civil War Reunion charm pack by Barbara Brackman for only $3.55 (62% off). Includes 42 5”x5” squares of rich fabric.

Also any of you with kids or grands, be sure and check out the PBSkids.org page for The Cat in the Hat Show!
